Opeing 7:30pm Firday 14 October
Sam Groom is primarily a printmaker but in this exhibition she has brought together a collection of printmaking, textiles, collage and ceramics all in her signature style of bold shapes and colours referencing the beauty of nature.
“I have produced a range of artworks onto saved items of sentimental value inherited from my family. This includes collaging onto old plates and woodblock printing and hand sewing onto remnants of saved and recycled fabric to produce colourful wall hangings.” Sam Groom
Clearly influenced by the colour and collages of Matisse, Sam Groom develops her ideas in different media to create a world of exotic flowers, fabulous birds, and large abstract compositions that explore and celebrate colour, shape, pattern and texture.
