Viv Owens work evokes emotions gleaned from the twitching dazzle of the television screen. Her paintings express emotions and dramas. She takes inspiration from mass media images distorting, cropping and manipulating them. Then painting freehand in strong colour combinations with dazzling lights and atmospheric shadows.

She studied art, including an MA at Leeds Beckett University. She exhibits regularly from her studio in Wakefield, and at galleries and shows in Sheffield, London and further afield.
