Cupola is excited to present a live performance of Daniele Marzeddu's piece "Films of Sicily & Sardinia". Daniele was commissioned as part of the 100th Anniversary of D.H. Lawrence’s book Sea and Sardinia, to create a film "Return to Sea and Sardinia". Daniele will be giving a recital of his writings accompanied by the live music of Sebastian Buccheri and a projection of Daniele’s photographs responding to the Sea and Sardinia.
Daniele Marzeddu's photographs also feature as part of our current exhibition Cornucopia.
A saxophonist and music lover, Daniele studied Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the “Ca’ Foscari” University of Venice. In 2004 he relocated to Lisbon with a Leonardo EU Social Funds grant, specialising in photography and film production at the Cinemateca Portuguesa-Museu do Cinema of Lisbon. Over the last two decades he has managed cultural projects for private and public organisations across Portugal, Spain, Italy and the UK.
Sebastian Buccheri is a Jazz Guitarist who also works under the name jazz defector, creating ambient soundscapes using using an old G5 mac with Ableton, Logic, some hardware, and some guitar pedals.
Support for the evening will be from Expanding Foam (non other than our own Graham Shapley). Expanding Foam runs the gamit of Noise, Ambient and Free Improvisation using esoteric synthesisers and unusual acoustic instruments to create a unique blend of sounds.
