Scion is Cupola’s open call selected Christmas exhibition. Artists have been invited to submit work which responds to the title of the exhibition.
Scion - meaning…
A detached shoot or twig containing buds from a woody plant
guardian
a descendant, especially a first generation descendant
In Cupola’s 30th anniversary year, the gallery wishes, for its Christmas show, to celebrate a reawakening or a rebirth, if you like, after such a difficult period. Artists never stop creating and Cupola intends to continue to offer new opportunities and to respond to challenges with new growth and new ideas.
“We are delighted with the response to our call out and have been excited to see so many submissions from artists new to the gallery from near and far across all media. It is going to be a challenge to bring it all together but the quality and diversity is really exciting.” Karen Sherwood, Director and curator.
